Transformers the Skin Test House

Pop Up Store

This design aims for the brand marketing of SK-II, a Japanese cosmetics brand, in a form of pop up store.

The Transformers the Skin Test House is a unique and innovative pop-up store designed by Hsuan-Hui Lee, in collaboration with Birkin Creative Integrated Marketing. This design is a new type of operation that integrates creative marketing strategies with retail stores, under the concept of a pop-up shop. It features temporariness and portability, bringing residents to a good understanding of the brand's products and enabling them to experience the atmosphere inside the shop through exhibition sessions, regardless of location.

The design theme of the Transformers the Skin Test House is inspired by the popular franchise and is meant to be a holistic strategy of brand marketing that establishes social interaction with people in urban public places. It stands out from other designs with its unique concept and attention to detail.

The realization of this design utilizes wooden materials, eco-friendly materials, and LED lights. All the employed materials are eco-friendly and reusable, and the process of assembly and disassembly has been completed for 60 times, ensuring sustainability and durability.

The specifications of the Transformers the Skin Test House include a size of W1620 x H290 x D480 cm for the sole container. The size of the design simulates that of a glass container house and contemporary glass house, with the container built from a steel structure. The indoor spaces of all the houses are 225 cm in height, and the floor, ceiling, and walls are made of eco-friendly wooden materials. The containers have been repeatedly used for display for approximately 60 times, showcasing their versatility and practicality.

This pop-up store design is equipped with various features to enhance its functionality and adaptability. The building volumes can be assembled in just 12 hours, with different assembly methods available. The shop can be built for testing before arriving at the sites, ensuring flawless quality. The design also includes a canopy for rainy weather, switchable showcases, replaceable automatic doors, adjustable tables and chairs, and a single entrance when the sole container is in use.

The Transformers the Skin Test House has been showcased in various locations in Taiwan, beside the most popular department stores, for exhibition events. It has held 60 sessions within a year, attracting a wide audience and generating buzz for the brand.

This design is the result of extensive research and development, with the aim of creating a second marketing center for the brand. It visually attracts people, displays the brand's features with showcases, and conveys the purpose of the event through videos. By integrating world trends in fashion and utilizing sound and light effects, the design enhances the publicity of the products and leaves a lasting impression on the public.

The Transformers the Skin Test House faced several challenges during its development, including fixing defects in slidable floors during rainy days, accommodating different demands for varying quantities of containers, ensuring easy assembly, and finding suitable lighting solutions. However, through continuous upgrades and improvements, these challenges were overcome, making the design suitable for all trade fairs in Taiwan. The interactive experience provided by the design allows the brand's spirit to be more widely valued by the public.

The Transformers the Skin Test House is a testament to the power of innovative design in brand marketing. It creates a unique and immersive experience for customers, establishing a strong connection between the brand and its target audience. This design has been recognized for its excellence and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 in the category of Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design. This prestigious award acknowledges the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the Transformers the Skin Test House, which meets professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
